The Court Case of Daniel Chavez Moran

By Burt Nguyen

Chavez Moran is a man whom many in his country know for his impressive record of charity. Chavez Moran also laid the foundations for the creation of Grupo Mayan, a major player in the country's hotels and tourism industry. It is currently listed as one of the bigger presences in Mexican resorts and hotels.

Of course, Moran and the group did have to endure quite a few tests before they achieved their many successes. In 2005, they had to face a lawsuit. They alleged that the company was persuading people to buy land shares that were not valid.

The complaint also claimed that Grupo Mayan Palace used falsified hard-selling tactics in favor of their time share sales. The prosecution also wanted an inspection of Grupo Mayan's documents. The complaints claim that they were being cheated of their rights.

Moran and his company were victorious at showing the court how baseless the claims were, however. Since the prosecution could not produce enough proof to argue their allegations, the case was ended prematurely. The allegations of unfair play were overruled after long inspection.

After a review, the court decided to dismiss the case because there were not enough facts proving its validity as an argument: you can click here to learn more about it and the company as well as Moran himself. The credibility of the lawsuit was found low due to the lack of evidence. Thus was Grupo Mayan's reputation saved.

The popular argument for such situations would be for a settlement. The prosecution can get pretty expensive, after all. A lot of people would have difficulty paying for lawyers' fees.

The plaintiffs in this case were facing a pretty big group, though. In this situation, the group was far better off, monetarily, than those in the prosecution. The group could actually afford a protracted case, unlike the plaintiffs.

The odds were thus on the side of the company and not the plaintiffs. Moran was able to make the correct decisions under pressure. The man lead the group through a tough time and has gained international admiration for it.

After three decades of being in the business, Moran believes that he needs to do more to give back to his country. Subsequent to the triumphs in court, Moran went into retirement. Today, he is now serving under his foundation for his charity work.
