There are two tasks performed by these assistants on quite a regular basis. The first regular task that is important to note would be the task of scheduling appointments for patients as they come and go throughout a typical day. The second regular task is going to be looking up, filing and keeping track of all records. Both of these tasks are typically made much easier through the use of computer software.

It is not uncommon at all for one of these assistants to be on the phone for very long periods of time dealing with insurance companies. Dealing with the insurance companies might be easy in some cases, while in other cases it might be quite trying. It is often these assistants that are expected to deal with these companies in most situations. This is not always the case however, yet such a thing is common.

There are many cases in which these assistants will be in the room helping people as they are having some type of procedure performed. This means that these people will be handling, and maybe even using tools of various kinds. Also consider that most assistants are expected to handle the taking of X-Rays as this is considered par for the course around some offices out there.

After learning more about the average dental assistant salary, as well as what some of the related job requirements are, more people should now be interested in such a position. This type of job is not for everybody but many people do like the idea of earning 30k+ in an environment not as stressful as most that present within most hospitals.
