Stand Up for your Dreams - Domestic Help Wanted

By Alice Sy

Being a domestic helper is promising and fulfilling if you have found a job but the path to success doesn't end there. You are not working for nothing, for what you give you deserve what is rightfully yours so as you do your work make sure you are getting something back. There's a demand for domestic helpers so domestic help wanted worldwide is not unusual and so are your rights.

Just like all the employees out there who are protected by the rule of law, there is no exception to any job, work is work as long as you do labor for others, no matter what kind of task it is so it's time we take a look at those rights.

Becoming part of the household a domestic help wanted must be provided with all the necessary amenities to be able to live-not just merely to survive but to live in a home the same way as all others living there. First a room with enough space should be given to the helper, inclusions are the bed, enough blankets, clean sheets and mattresses and perfect air circulation. This should be considered as a private room with no permission from others to enter unless necessary.

Like any other employees, work has a specific time to begin and a time to end, usually it's just eight hours and all the necessary breaks, lunch, dinner, snack time or some time to rest in between. Unlike some employees who do not have free meals, domestic helpers are necessarily provided with all the major meals as part of the household. Aside from this, employer must allow a rest day for the helper and give duly compensation if necessary.

Employers will not decide to indicate a domestic help wanted situation unless they need so and unless they have the money to compensate them. As for all domestic helpers out there, you know your rights; you feel when you are being trampled upon. Get up, stand up for your dreams, you know you have the right too.
