Become A Licensed Electrician - Michigan Electrical Licensing Conditions

To be able to be recognized as a journeyman electrician in the state, you'll be required to satisfy quite a few Michigan electrical permit criteria:

Sitting For The MI Electrical Permit Test

In order to do the Michigan electrical permit assessment, you are going to need to get a hold of and complete an Application for Journeyman Electrician Examination form from LARA.

In your application, you are required to present original papers signed by a notary public from your previous and current companies showing your on-the-job experience with them in order to fulfill the eight thousand hr condition. The MI electrical accreditation examination is in line with the 2005 NEC and it is open book. The examination is two and a half hrs in duration and is made up of eighty queries, and you're going to have to get a score of a minimum of 75 percent to pass.

When you have aced your assessment, you're going to be asked to fork out an additional certificate payment of $40. If you're unable to achieve the minimum score in the examination following 2 endeavors within a window of 2 yrs, you'll be required to wait at least 1 year following the time of the 2nd failure before you may sit for yet another examination. You'll also be required to take an electrical training program covering code prerequisites and electric concepts to be qualified for re-examination.
