Five Steps to the Perfect Car Wrap Design

By Stan Neal

Drive through any large city and you will see quite a few wrapped vehicles patrolling the streets. Small businesses located in smaller towns are even catching onto this trend, since they often do not have a lot of money to spend on advertising. Car wraps turn an ordinary vehicle into a moving billboard. These wraps are so eye-catching that they tend to be viewed and enjoyed even by consumers who typically do not look at billboards and other advertisements on the road.

The days of taking out simple ads in the local newspaper are over, so businesses are on the patrol for effective ways to reach their local communities. Not only are these vehicle wraps effective and attention-demanding, but they only require one initial financial investment.

Once you decide that wrapped vehicles are an effective and affordable marketing investment, you can follow these five steps to come up with the perfect design for your wrap:

1. Determine the colors to be used in your design. For a business, this often means identifying the colors already associated with the business or a relevant product. This is part of branding. You want your vehicles to be easily connected to your business, even if consumers do not read the logos or pay attention to the pictures.

2. Collect business images and logos that are already being used to market the company. This will further mark your vehicle so it is easily identified as belonging to your business or product.

3. Decide where you want to place each of your branding elements (including color blocks) on your vehicle. If you want to incorporate a color blocking pattern as a background, identify which colors should go on which areas of the car surface. The vehicle can then be fitted with branding elements, placing each item in the most appropriate space. The most important branding elements should be placed in the most prominent positions.

4. Put your design on paper for future reference. It is difficult to tell someone who sells car wraps melbourne exactly what you want if you do not have some visual representation of the design. Try to sketch it out in as much detail as possible so you have something to go off of when you contact your chosen wrap company.

5. Contact a professional and begin the process of finalizing your design. Find the most qualified person to create your wrap, and then listen to their advice on tweaking your design. A professional will not just trash your design, but will make suggestions for improvements. If you are working with someone you trust, you should allow them to influence your design so you get maximum results from the final product.

Do not underestimate the importance of creating the perfect design for your wrap. Rather than advertising your business in a positive light, a bad design will advertise in a negative light. You do not want your vehicles to be known for the wrong reasons, and you want to make sure they are effective at advertising on your behalf. If you are trying to get the most bang from your marketing budget, it is to your advantage to spend more time on the design so you know you get it right.
