The Art of Web Design

By Kelly Montagna

These days, web design can be difficult. In the 90's, web design was easy, and quite a few people were experts. It was a simple design process, and building a quality website was easy. Quality was a bit debatable, but it did work. With websites for tradies today however, you have more to think about. For instance, will you be relying heavily on graphics? Is there any CSS styling planned? PHP perhaps? Will you be creating a login interface? In addition to considering these things, you must ask some obvious questions.

Where Will you Host? -- Before you work on web design, think about a host. One of the most important things you can do is ensure the host in question actually supports the format. Most plugins will be supported, but could incur an extra charge.

Flow -- In web design, many people create website for tradies that simply do not flow. When you make your website, you should have others test it out. It might look good to you, but others could find it hard to navigate. That is certainly something to think about!

Lightweight -- The weight of the website is often ignored by develoeprs. Though many computers are more powerful, and the internet is faster, you should attempt to make your website as small as possible. Larger websites will take much longer to load. It might sound a bit harsh, but we are living in a world where timing is everything.

You could work on your own web design, but finding a company to deal with it for you would help. Even though you might have the necessary experience to create a stellar site, you will find that owning the company in question gives you a blurred perspective. The creation of acceptable content can be a bit difficult, especially in a community so large. In addition to that, where will you find the time to create a website when you are running a business? You most likely will not. That stated, there are a plethora of web design companies that will help you in every aspect. These are technical considerations that you should really never have to touch.

Will it cost? You could spend quite a bit, yes, but it will be worth it. Find a company that can give you the website you need today.
