Why Choose Application Lifecycle Management?

By Dawn Bradford

The life of an application in the software field depends on so many factors that the term Application Lifecycle Management in itself is quite difficult to define in specific terms. Every vendor would have their own set of important aspects to be considered for the life of an application. There is however one common and accepted factor. That a process is essential that would monitor this life of the application. This is essential due to the fast changing scenario of both the business rules as well as the processes that govern a business.

An application that simulates the real business process on the computer is therefore very much important to be updated and current. The people, who form the business house, would necessarily have to be aware of the procedure and its nuances. How the business is represented in the system needs to be well understood by the people.

By gaining knowledge about the work process as it occurs in the software, the business house would be able to implement business practices easily into the system. These processes would be necessary to keep themselves up to date with that market changes. After all the market represents the customer and no customer ever remains static.

Quality of a product that a business house manufactures or the service that the house provides its clients would depend largely on the strength of this application. The flowchart that forms the basis of the system is very critical and is a true representation of the actual happening of the business in question. Knowledge about this level of the system is therefore essential to the top echelons of the business house to ensure success of their venture.

With such a software management tool in place, the system top hierarchy can control the data flow as well as access of the data and therefore ensure its integrity. Importance of data to any business house requires no further expansion.

Along with these advantages the most important aspect is that Application Lifecycle Management enables its users to generate reports based on which prediction of the future can be done quite accurately. Such a prediction means money to the business house and big amounts at that. ALM therefore is a necessity and of great value.
